Baking books and the blue cup!

In Greece many recipies are given with "cup-measurments" , one cup of sugar, 3 cups of flour and so on!!! Pralines little friend wanted to help with baking of course, but he insisted on using his tiny little blue cup which was high up on the shelf....dear me... that was an advneturous morning!
In Griechenland sind die meisten Rezepte noch mit "Tassen-Messangaben", eine Tasse Zucker, 3 Tassen Mehl usw!! Pralines kleiner Freund wollte mithelfen beim Backen, aber er brauchte unbedingt seine kleine blaue Tasse dazu!Und die war ganz oben auf dem Regal! Das war ein abenteuerlicher Vormittag!!!

Natuerlich hat er einen Weg gefunden, um hochzuklettern- mit 2 richtigen Keksen!!

But then Praline had to come and help of course!! How good, that she has so many cook-books!!

Praline's friend got hungry! ....Pralines Freund hat Hunger!

So he decided to cook...:) His hat might be a bit too big...but he looks so cute! Praline also made aprons for both of them!
Also hat er beschlossen ...zu kochen! :) Seine Kochmuetze ist einbisschen zu gross geworden, aber er sieht so niedlich damit aus! Und Praline hat fuer beide auch die Schuerzen genaeht!

Late in the evening they also decided to start a new enterprise!! They will be making dollhouse-kitchen-shelfs and other ittems!!! It was late and they should have been in bed...but had to take a picture! They also have plans for their own little cookbooks...as the ones you see are designed by others and it would not be correct to sell them!
Und spaet am Abend haben sie dann beschlossen, dass sie Puppenhaus-Kuechen-Regale und andere Sachen machen werden! Sie haetten ja eigentlich schon im Bett sein sollen...aber Fotos mussten sie noch machen! Ausserdem planen sie ihre eigenen Entwuerfe fuer Kochbuecher, denn die, die ihr seht, sind ja von anderen und es waere nicht korrekt,sie zu verkaufen!

On Greek blogs i saw these little bracelts today. They are called "Martaki", meaning little March.

It is a tradition going back to ancient years. Children get them to wear throughout the month, as these are supposed to protect them from the spring-sun- as the legends say! The red colour stands for the love of beautiful things and the white colour for the first white little spring flowers! By the end of the month it is left on the rose-bushes, so that swallows can come and pick it up for their nests! What a nice tradition!

There is even a little video on this on youtube, it is in Greek and English.

Hoffen wir , dass der Fruehling es kapiert!!!

In Griechenland wird heute ein sogenanntes "Martaki", ein "kleiner Maerz" , fuer die Kinder gemacht. Ein rotweisses Armbaendchen,das den ganzen Monat getragen wird. Rot fiuer die Liebe zu allen schoenen Dingen und weiss fuer die ersten Fruehlingsbluemchen. Diese Tradition geht zureuck in die uralten Jahre...und der Legende nach, soll das Armbaendchen die Kinder vor den ersten Sonnenstrahlen schuetzen! ( denn die Sonne ist hier dann gleich sehr kraeftig!). Ende des Monats wird das Baendchen auf die Rosenstraeucher gelegt,damit es sich die Schwalben holen zum Nestbau!

Das ist doch eine nette Tradition!

I can't say that i am particulary fond of mice in real life...but MINI mice are charming, cute and can do a lot of things in the fantasy- and fairytale-world! Some days ago, i saw this blog and was really enchanted by the beautiful scenes created for childrens' (and not only..!) books! After contacting Maggie Rudy on her amazing work , here are some of my favorite scenes! So much expression and movement in her scenes!

But that's not all! I visited http://www.eifel-minis.de (i hope the link opens!!) and http://www.eifel-minis.de/html/ruhrpottbude.html where there is so much to see, that one can visit again and again and still finds new things to see! This is Rita and her husband, working on many many scenes, roomboxes and dollhouses! Now, like the scene above "Dancing with Mama" , sometimes things go right to your heart when seeing them! It was the same with the pictures from Rita's "RuhrpottBude" - a VERY typical little German shop from the Ruhr-aera in North-Rhine-Westfalia ! This is where i grew up and the little shop brought back so many memories! The whole setting, the items she put in, the colours, the tidyness ( ...:) ...) and the little girl with her pigtails!
Miniatures, Dollhouses, Roomboxes may express beautiful fantasy very often , but can also catch and cherish wonderful memories! Thank you Rita!

Aber das war noch nicht alles! Vor einiger Zeit hatte ich die http://www.eifel-minis.de (ich hoffe, der Link oeffnet sich!) und http://www.eifel-minis.de/html/ruhrpottbude.html angesehen! Dort ist Rita und ihr Mann, die viele viele Puppenstuben, Szenen und Ideen bauen! Man kann immer wieder hin zum "Besuchen" und entdeckt immer wieder Neues! Manchmal ist es so, wie bei dem Foto oben "Tanzen mit Mama" , dass man beim Anschauen wirklich an- und beruerhrt wird! So ging es mir mit der "Ruhrpottbude"! Da ich in der Gegend aufgewachsen bin...flogen mir die Erinnerungen entgegen!

All die Sachen in der Bude, die Farben, die Ordnung..:)... einfach wunderbar! Und das kleine Maedchen mit den Zoepfen!

Miniaturen, Puppenstuben und Szenen zeigen ja oft so viel wunderschoene Fantasie, aber sie koennen auch Erinnerungen ganz tief in unserem Herzen bewahren! Danke Rita!

While writing a new post on new followers yesterday...a new snowstorm "hit" us and electricity was off- and my nice text was gone,too!, of course!! It is not that unusual for here to have cold weather this time of the year...but with spring so close....nobody is really happy about snow now.
Waehrend ich gestern abend einen neuen Eintrag machen wollte fuer neue Blogbegleiter...kam ein neuer Schneesturm und der Strom war weg- und mein schoener Text natuerlich! Es ist nicht ungewoehnlich fuer hier, auch jetzt noch kaltes Wetter zu haben, aber mit dem Fruehling so nah...freut sich keiner mehr so richtig ueber den Schnee!

And then...something nice! I had read about "Fairydoors"- new to me....and i made one for Pralines house! It is outside under the window to her room...the wall is still unfinished, but i love the idea! The door can open (took me some hours to figure that out :) ...and there is the fairy's entrance!

Und nun etwas Schoenes! Ich hatte ueber "Feentueren" gelesen- neu fuer mich...und so hab ich eine fuer Pralines Haus gemacht! Die Tuer istdraussen unter dem Fenster zu ihrem Zimmer...die Wand ist noch nicht fertig, aber ich finde die Idee schoen! Die Tuer kann man oeffnen (hat ein paar Stunden gedauert,bis ich das hinkriegte :) ...und dahinter ist der Feeneingang!

Praline and her little friend ...AND a surprise Present! from far away Mexico! From Ana!!!!

Praline und ihr kleiner Freund...und ein Ueberraschungsgeschenk! Aus Mexico!!

Some days ago i got a notice from the postoffice to collect something ( ....our mailman does not like to bring things, even if they are MINI!!!! ).
I was overwhelmed with joy, because it was a real surprise from Ana from Mexico!!! Totally unexpected, just as a present! That is so kind and nice !! Thank you so much Ana!!!!! :)
Now..this made me continue Pralines house finally more quickly- because of course the little chest will go into her house! ( Where else??? !!! ). There was also thread and wool inside, which i will show you later!
Here you are:

Vor ein paar Tagen bekam ich eine Benachrichtigung von der Post,etwas abzuholen (unser Brieftraeger.....,der mag noch nichmals MINIs bringen....) . Dann hab ich mich riesig gefreut,denn es war eine kleine Ueberraschung von Ana aus Mexiko! Einfach nur so, als kleine Freude!!! Ganz Herzlichen Dank , Ana! Das hat mich dazu veranlasst, Pralines Haeuschen schneller weiterzumachen- denn die kleine Truhe kommt natuerlich in ihr Haeuschen1 (wohin sonst???? ) . In der Truhe ist auch Garn und Wolle, aber das zeig ich spaeter!

Then Praline of course had to show it to her little friend, but he was sleeping very very fast in his new little bed! But finally she got him up and they had a lot to talk about!!! And to show later on...because their house is making progress! :)

Trash to minis! "Wegwerfdinge" verwandelt in MInis! Ανακύκλωση, οχι πέταμα!

The whole dollhouse -except the printed wallpapers- is made of "trash"! old shelves, cardboard, pieces of wood, ribbons, old xmas-tree-lights, a red shirt for the roof, ...even the balcony was found-as it is- in a rubbish bin!!!

Das ganze Puppenhaus ist aus "Abfall" gemacht-ausser der gedruckten Tapeten! alte Regale, Karton, Holzstuecke, Baendchen, alte Weihnachtsbaumbeleuchtung, ein rotes Hemd fuers Dach...sogar der Balkon-so wie er ist- hatte im Muell gelegen!!!

Όλο το κουκλόσπιτο ειναι φτιαγμενο απο πραγματα που είχαν πεταχτεί- εκτός από τα τυπωμενα χαρτιά για τους τοίχους! Πάλαια ράφια, χαρτόνι, κομμάτακια ξύλου, λάμπάκια από χριστουγ. δέντρο, ενα κόκκινο πουκάμισο για την σκεπή...ακόμα και το μπαλκόνι, το οποίο βρέθηκε έτσι όπως ειναι ...πεταμένο!

When i was thinking about what to use to hang the curtains , i had some problems coming up with an idea! Searching through my Y. I .I.D. (Very Important Items' Drawer :) i remembered the lids of milkboxes we have here...and which OF COURSE I hadn't saved before, thinking that if i ever need them...i will just buy some milk!!! I had actually thought before that they might look like nice lids for mini-cooking pots...no thought of curtains! But then the idea "hit" me...if you cut them, you get a very easy-to-use hanging-device for the curtain rod!!!! Just glue to the wall! It can be painted, or sprayed, or dressed with ribbon etc!

I put them into the rooms in the dollhouse, the picture is from the kitchen windows ( which are too close to each over.....YES i am learning- for the next house!!!)

Beim Hausbau wollte ich auch gern schon die Halterungen fuer Gardinenstangen anbringen, damit sich die kleine neue Besitzerin nicht rumplagen muss! aber was sollte ich dazu nehmen??? Beim rumsuchen in meiner S.W.S.S. (Sehr Wichtige Sachen Schublade!!!) fand ich natuerlich nichts...aber dann fiel mein Blick auf Milchkartons von hier, und die Idee war da! Die Lasche ist perfekt, wenn man sie durchschneidet!!!

Diese Laschen hatte ich natuerlich schon gesehen...aber NICHT schon mal aufbewahrt, mit dem Gedanken, wenn ich sie mal brauche, kann ich ja Milch besorgen! ....

So hat man ganz einfach zu machende Halterungen, prima zu kleben, und wenn man will kann man sie anmalen oder bekleben!

Ενώ σκεφτομαι τι θα φτιαξω για το σπιτακι της "Πραλίνε", έφτιαξα και μερικά καροτσάκια ακόμα...από ρεσό! (και κομματια από ενα δεντράκι με συρμα...( που βρέθηκε και αυτό διαλυμένο...)

Baker's Busy workshop...maybe time to "expand" the shop?

I made the baker's workshop nearly 2 years ago...but it still gets the most "likes" in my facebook group littlethings! That's great of course!! And make sme think, perhaps it is time to let the poor baker "grow" a bit!! ???

Having "studied" , seen and learned so much during this time...it will be very interesting to do something similar again now!!!
( But i hear "Praline" screaming!!! She wants HER HOUSE!!!! ) :) Ok, she will get it first!!!

Περι τίνος πρόκειται?
Ενα "κυνήγι θησαυρού" για τον ιστότοπο "Minitreasures", που σημαίναι "μικροί θησαυροί", εκει γίνεται δουλειά να συγκεντρωθούν - σε ενα ειδος ηλεκτρονικής εγκυκλοπαίδειας- όσο το δυνατόν περοισσότερα για ο τι σχετικό με μινιατούρες/κουκλόσπιτα/ σχετική χειροτεχνία /κατασκευες /υλικα /ιστρορια...κτλ κτλ , από τα μπλοκς, διαδικτιο γενικως, οδηγίες, βιντεο, λινκς, βιβλια κτλ!!
Πολλά βέβαια υπάρχουν ήδη, και πολλοί/ες μάλλον γνωρίζετε την σελίδα αυτή!
Η Ιωάννα απ την Φινλανδία και η Λίντα απ τον Καναδά, οι οποίες πρωτοξεκίνησαν το "Minitreasures", σκεφτηκαν το παιχνίδι του κυνηγιού του θησαυρού για να αυξηθεί το περιεχώμενο και για να έχουμε όλοι πιο πολλά να δούμε και να βρούμε!!!
Προσωπικά γνωρίζω τις κοπέλες αρκετό καιρό τωρα, συμμετειχα και στο χριστουγεννιακτικο ημερολόγιο εκει, κερδισα το δωρακι με το μικρο ψωμι, και επισκέπτομαι την σελίδα τους πολύυυυυυυυυυυ συχνα!!
Για το πρώτο γύρο του παιχνιδιού τώρα,(θα ξεκινήσει σε λίγες μέρες) αναζητούνται 10 "μανιακοί" της μινιατούρας :) απ' όλο τον κόσμο, οι οποίοι σε 5 ζευγάρια θα "δουλέψουν" μαζί για να μαζέψουν οσο πιο πολλά μπορούν πάνω σε ενα συγκεκριμενο θέμα! Και για τον πρώτο γύρο , το δωράκι για το καλύτερο θέμα ειναι αυτά που βλέπετε στις φωτογραφίες! Επιτρέπεται να βοηθήσουν το ζευγάρι βέβαια και φίλοι και γνωστοί!!!!
Σκέφτηκα οτι "οι ταξιδιώτες" θα χρειαστούν στα σίγουρα Χαρτες, βαλίτσες (που θα τις βάλουμε όλες τις πληροφορίες.,ε.:) .????) , παγκακι να ξεκουραστούμε, μια απλή κουβερτούλα, ενα μαξιλαράκι...!!!

it is so nice, that you keep looking at my blog...although there is not so much progress on various things i am doing. Here's a quick look.
The dollhouse might get some "stairs", although i am not really happy about either of the solutions ( well, next thing to learn is "think ...before finishing!!!! " :) ..it is supposed to be a "sort-of-staircase", just something "to be there"!!
And a little surprise "Littlething" having to do with the MINI Treasures site!But more about that in some time later!

Es ist echt schoen, dass ihr hier weiter vorbeischaut, obwohl es momentan nicht viel fertiges Neues gibt. Hier ist ein kleiner Einblick.
Das Puppenhaus soll noch- im Nachhinein- Treppen bekommen.Aber ich bin nicht so ganz gluecklich ueber keine der Loesungen. Wieder was zu lernen , " DENKEN...vorm Fertigmachen!!!" Es soll eine "Pseudo-Treppe" sein, hauptsaechlich " damit etwas da ist"!!!
Und eine kleine Ueberraschungssache, die mit der Internetseite MINI Treasures - Mini Schaetze- zu tun hat! Aber da kann ich noch nicht mehr zu sagen, das kommt spaeter!

This is my drawer to take part in Rena's "100 drawers" call! (see my previous post!)
I had a real old one , with beautiful wood...so some philosophy came into the picture.

Looking into an old drawer might bring up memories which are the pieces of our life.
They might be "sharp" sometimes...the sand of time smooths the edges and combines all pieces
Flowers and small or bigger shells stand for the good memories
A stone is there in all our lives, but the sea has "worked it over"!
Looking into this drawer , one sees oneself like in a mirror- and i wish the little composition might bring up Kindness to the memories and to the person looking!

Mit dieser Schublade nehme ich an Renas "100 Schubladen" Aufruf teil! (mehr dazu hatte ich in vorherigem Eintrag erzaehlt! Ich hatte eine wirklich alte, wunderschoene Holzschublade...daher ists etwas philosophisch geworden!
Wenn man in eine alte Schublade reinschaut, stoesst man meistens auf Erinnerungen, Teile unseres Lebens.
Manchmal sind diese Teile ziemlich rau...der Sand der Zeit hat sie weicher gemacht und verbindet alle Teile.
Blumen und kleine oder groessere Muscheln stehen fuer die schoenen Erinnerungen.
Steine hat jeder im Leben, der Stein hier ist schon vom Meer "bearbeitet".
Wenn man in diese Schublade schaut, sieht man sich selbst wie in einem Spiegel- und ich wuensche mir, das diese kleine Zusammenstellung den Anschauer guetig stimmt, sich selbst und den Erinnerungen gegenueber.

Μου βγήκε λιγο "φιλοσοφικό"...αλλά το ξύλο του συρταριού και ήταν πολύ όμορφο. πράγματι πολύ παλαιό!

Ενα παλαιο συρταρι συχνα κρύβει κομμάτια της ζωής μας - τα κομματια του καθρέφτη

Τα κομμάτια μπορεί να ειναι "αιχμηρά", αλλά ο χρόνος τα απαλύνει.. - η άμμος

Καλό είναι να φυλάμε τις όμορφες αναμήσεις- τα κοχύλια, μεγάλα και μικρά, και τα λουλούδια

Για τα δύσκολα και τις στενάχωρες αναμήσεις - μια πέτρα που την έχει "δουλέψει" η θάλασσα

Ηθελα η όλη σύνθεση να είναι όμορφη, επειδή όταν κοιτάμε τις αναμνήσεις μας...κοιτάμε τον εαυτό μας στον καθρέφτη!!!!

Τα κομματια συνδέουνται μεταξή τους με την άμμο..με λουλούδια, κοχύλια ή χωρίς...η ζωή μας έτσι πάει!

This is a competition Rena from http://diaheiros.blogspot.com (that means "made by hands") from Thessaloniki called for , starting with the first day of the new year!

It is about transforming an old drawer into ....something!

About imagination and creativity,

about recycling,

not throwing away things without a second thought,

about brightening up something "useless" with fun, decoration, colours, thoughts and handcraft!

The aim is to get at least 100 participants.....and then organize an exhibition for charity!

Gitti from http://bripabaeren.blogspot.com and http://gittis-bripabaeren.blogspot.com has been making beautiful bears for quite some years! You can see them on her blog, each one is more beautiful than the other! You can read about her "Hobby" , and one can also read a little bit "behind the lines".
We became good friends through the blogworld when i saw a little kitchen roombox on her blog that she wanted to exchange with something! Since then...it is nearly a year now- we have been writing emails to each other regularly and very much enjoy this friendship!
All of us most certainly have a story and quite a lot of reasons for how life makes things happen! What i have learned is, that the most beautiful creations- in whatever art- come out of difficult life-times! And it is so encouraging to see other peoples' work, thinking of that!
Gitti also has a another special gift, she repairs and mends old teddys (especially from Mohair wool!) and takes care of all "suffering" teddys children might bring to her!
The little film was made some years ago on a German Tv channel- even if you don't understand, it is so sweet to see the kids explaining about their Teddys "sufferings" and then watch them being well taken care of by "Doctor" Gitti!
There is a reason for posting this today...
Some "get well soon" greetings will make her very happy - i hope!!! :)

Auf ihren Blogs koennt ihr auch ueber ihr Hobby lesen...und so manches steht auch zwischen den Zeilen.

Wir wurden gute Freunde nachdem ich auf ihrem Tauschblog eine kleine Kuechen Puppenstube entdeckt hatte! Seitdem- und das ist bald ein Jahr- schreiben wir uns regelmaessig emails and freuen uns an dieser tollen Freundschaft!

Viele von uns haben ihre Geschichte und in jedem Leben gibt es verschiedene Gruende fuer die Entwicklung so mancher Umstaende.

Was man aber sieht, ist, dasss die schoensten Sachen- in jeder Kunstrichtung- meistens aus schwierigen Lebensumstaenden entstehen. Und ich finde, es ist so ermutigend , dies alles aus dieser Hinsicht zu betrachten!

Gitti hat aber auch noch eine besondere "Gabe", sie repariert und flickt alte Teddys (besonders die aus Mohair-Wolle) und kuemmert sich auch ganz besonders liebevoll um "kranke" Teddys, die vielleicht Kinder zu ihr bringen!

Der kleine Film wurde von einem deutschen tv Kanal aufgenommen vor ein paar Jahren .Auch wenn vielleicht nicht alle Blogleser die Sprache verstehen, ist es so suess zu sehen wie die Kinder die Teddy- "Krankheiten" beschreiben und wie ruehrend "Doktor" Gitti sich drum kuemmert!

Heute gibt es einen besonderen Grund fuer diesen Beitrag....denn viele "Gute Besserung" Wuensche werden Gitti bestimmt freuen! ...hoffe ich! :)

This dollhouse (without furniture) will most probably go to a little girl as a birthday present. Final decisions will be made soon! But this is why there is a lot of Pink, fairies etc. I would have chosen other things for myself, but someone else has to like it!!! :)
Quite a few things still to do, to correct, to straighten , to add...and a LOT to learn for me!!! :)
- and a curtain, paravan...something for the bathroom!!!

Wahrscheinlich wird es ein Geburtstagsgeschenk (ohne die Moebel) fuer ein kleines Maedchen, die entgueltige Entscheidung kommt noch! Daher aber die Feen und das viele Rosa, fuer mich selber haette ich es etwas anders gemacht. Aber es soll ja jemand anders gefallen!
Es gibt noch einiges zu tun, zu korrigieren,zu begradigen , hinzu zu fuegen...und fuer mich VIEL zu lernen!!!! :)
- und ein Vorhang oder Paravan fuers Badezimmer!!!

Some days ago i had this "internet-blog-studying" day....sometimes one doesn't find new inspiring ideas ...but other times one does!

I was actually looking through art-pages, when i came upon a picture about a paper-tree on a wall, made with used (dry of course!! ;) coffee-filters!First thought was about the really nice various shades of brown- as it is always difficult for me to mix colors and get the shade i want!

Second thought....and much more important for the "mini-building", if the artist used them for a big -real size- composition...they must be quite stable material, even if paper!

And so my window-idea was born! One does not always easily have pieces of balsa material, wood pieces etc- leave alone that cutting all these is not so easy....

TAKE 2 coffee-filters, glue them together,(so you have 4 layers of paper) let dry, AND CUT easily AND glue easily to whatever shape and style you want! And it is really steady and bendable!

The used ones have a nice ebony, or brownish , color. I painted mine ....and will try some more methods on that! You can make it more even , or not, it looks like wood, doesn't it?

The style of window is my favorite, you get such a nice space inside the house! A windowsill, which i would love to have in real life, too- but ...never mind, Praline is the lucky one! She already knows what to put there: the beautiful little lamp from the prize from Monika!!!

a sweet little ribbon ...makes some sweet little mugs! a paper handkerchief...and some buttons!
the mugs are made from the "bottom" part of the little plastic thingswith the red cap , in the middle of the picture below! It is vanila aroma we use for cakes here! ( the red lttle caps are perfect "mini- flowerpots!!")

ein suesses kleines Baendchen musste fuer die Becher "geopfert " werden.. etwas Papierserviette und ein paar Knoepfe!
die Becher sind aus dem "Boden" der kleinen Plastikdinger mit den roten Stoepseln gemacht! (Die roten Stoepsel sind perfekte kleine "Mini-Blumentoepfe"!!)

"Praline" , my sweet little bear ( made by Cornelia from http://corneliasallerlei.blogspot.com ) , is demanding her home now! She even sat in her little rooms , and would NOT move away ! And then sent me to look around and start finding things for her home to be! so..."under construction" once again!
Of course she will also need a proper roof, perhaps some more rooms...? or a roof-garden?
(just by the way...her house had been thrown away into the garbage by ...who knows? , but was ever so quickly recycled by me!!!)

Natuerlich will sie auch ein ordentliches Dach, vielleicht mehr Zimmerchen? oder einen Dachgarten?
( nur als info...ihr Haeuschen war auf dem Muell, von irgendjemand weggeschmissen, aber es wurde ja ganz ganz flott von mir wiederverwertet!!)

Now , there is an other project, which might be combined with Praline's new house...but she is already complaining and making a loooong list with "what-to-dos" here!!! More windows, doors, carpets, chairs, toys, trunks, pictures, staircases, desks, plates, mugs....HER bed!

Nun, es gibt noch ein anderes Projekt,das sich mit Pralines Haus verbinden laesst...aber sie beschwert sich jetzt schon und ist dabei eine laaaaaaaaaaange Liste zu schreiben "was-gemacht-werden-soll" !! Mehr Fenster, Tueren, Teppiche, Stuehle, Kisten, Bilder, Spielzeug, Teller , Tassen...und IHR Bett!

let's hope 2012 will bring enough time and ideas !!

Aπ την καρδιά μου, πολλές ευχές σε όλους και όλες! Χρόνια πολλά!
Πρόσθεσα μια "σελίδα" στην πάνω γραμμή του μπλογκ με τιτλο " My Christmas story" ( η χριστουγεννιατικη ιστορια μου) , εκει θα βρειτε ενα παλαιο διηγημα στα Γερμανικα, ελληνικά και Αγγλικα.
Αυτήν την ιστορία, μας την διάβαζε παντα η γιαγια μου ( αργοτερα η μητερα μας) τα Χριστούγεννα, και δεν περνά χρόνος που δεν την ξαναδιαβάζω! Φέτος, με αγάπη, σε όλους σας!

Η μητέρα μου πέθανε σαν σήμερα, πριν απο 6 χρόνια. Ηταν διερμηνέας και μεταφράστρια. Στην μήμη της έκανα σημερα τις μεταφράσεις, επειδη της το ειχα υποσχεθεί πριν πολλά χρόναι! Και επειδή φέτος μου λέιπει ιδιάιτερα πολύ...

Oben im Blog seht ihr eine neue Seite "My christmas story" - Meine Weihnachtsgeschichte. Ich habe euch dort unsere Familien-Weihnacchtsgeschichte in Deutsch, Griechisch, Englisch aufgeschrieben. Unsere Grossmutter ( und spaeter dann unsere Mutter ) hat sie uns immer vorgelesen- es vergeht kein Jahr, wo ich sie nicht nochmal lese! Jetzt gebe ich sie gern an Euch weiter!

Vor 6 Jahren starb meine Mutter in dieser Nacht. Sie war Dolmetscherin und Uebersetzerin. Zu ihrem Gedaechtnis habe ich heute diese Geschichte uebersetzt, denn das hatte ich ihr schon vor langer Zeit versprochen und dieses Jahr vermisse ich sie besonders...

My youngest son, 25, studied Sound-Engineering and especially loves sound animation for films! His big dream is to do more serious studies on his subject- but all that is not easy...in many ways! So he took part in the wonderful challenge of the Vancouver Film School who offered for ONE STUDENT to

win a full scholarship to the Sound Design for Visual Media program at Vancouver Film School next year!

Das ist Lefteri, der jetzt ganz viele Stimmen braucht!

Mein juengster Sohn hat Ton/Sound-Technik studiert und wuerde gern noch mehr dazu studieren- aber es ist nicht immer alles einfach im Leben...daher hat er an einem internationalen Wettbewerb teilgenommen, denn DIE Uni fuer Ton /Sound fuer Filme in Vancouver Canada hat diesen Wettbewerb fuer EIN STIPENDIUM ausgeschrieben! Zu unserer grossen Freude wurde Lefteris unter die 10 Besten zugeordnet und nun wird der EINZIGE Gewinner von den 10 durch Abstimmung uebers Internet gewaehlt! Um abzustimmen muss man sich auf der Internetseite der Uni bzw deren Soundcloud (das heisst Ton-Wolke) registrieren und kann dann abstimmen fuer einen der 10 Finalisten!

These pillows are given to them as presents and seem to be very useful ,too, for relieving pain and uneasiness after the operation. One can also download the pattern and all tutorials one needs to make these special pillows!
I think this is a wonderful action to support and to participate. A heart-pillow from women to women in pain, distress and so much trouble ...will at least bring a little smile to their hearts and mind!

Auf den vielen Blogs liest man so viel Nuetzliches, Schoenes, Kreatives, auch ueber die verschiedenen Seiten des Lebens, froehlich, schwierig, traurig...
Gestern las ich bei  http://pueppilottchen.blogspot.com einen Beitrag, der mich sehr geruehrt hat und wobei ich dachte, dass es schoen ist, dies weiterzugeben:
Es ging ueber eine "Herzkissen-Naeh" Aktion in Hannover, und zwar werden Herzkissen genaeht fuer Frauen, die wegen Brustkrebs operiert werden mussten. Diese Herzkissen werden Krankenhaeusern gespendet und dort an die Patientinnen weitergegeben. Sie sollen auch hilfreich und praktisch sein nach der Operation als eine Art Stuetze in der Achsel!

Santa lives in the clouds! Because.... Der Weihnachtsmann wohnt in den Wolken! Weil....

Putting lights in a roombox, or now in this Santa house...that is a BIG challenge for me! As you will have noticed, i am not a professional ... :) ... AND i like to use things nobody wants- say, recycling!! ( and real dollhouse light are rather expensive...... :( !!!
So, i had kept this "christmas-tree- electric-lights-chain" for quite a time, until it found its purpose some days ago! Yes, it should light Santa's house! Ihad already drilled some holes in the backsides- but that didn;t really seem enough!
More lights? Yes, the "chain"!! BUT...there is always a BUT in life, isn't it? ....this xmas-tree-light-chain was actually 3 cable-chains ,wonderfully tangled together! So i had to untangle it, twist and turn for nearly three days...AND in the end I won!
The "special request" in this try was also, that one chain of lights wouldn't work....so i had to break my mind, how to get the remaining ,working, light-chain around the house!
Then the next (terrible) thought, WHAT IF THEY DON'T WORK anymore, or burn ????? This led to the solution that the lights are only put around the outside of the house and NOT fixed or glued forever and ever! (I wouldn;t really want to break down everything JUST TO CHANGE THE LIGHTS!!)
Well, up to now it all worked fine (after many hours...) , but then the whole construction just looked horrible with all the green cable surrounding the house...It took me some nights of thinking...but finally i decided that Santa might also live in the clouds..( and not exclusively in Norway or further up at the North Pole :) ....and that it would look nice, covering the ugly cables with cotton-wool i use for filling cloth-dolls!
Well, this is the story...and this is what it looks like now ! There are even some little clouds inside the rooms under the roof, some tiny ones got caught in Santa's door....but, either you live in the clouds or you don't!!!
AND Santa can take off much quicker now!! (his big sleigh will be built tomorrow!)

Warum ist das Weihnachtshaus in den Wolken???
Nun, mit der Beleuchtung tu ich mich schwer- bzw bin ja sowieso kein Experte!! Ausserdem benutz ich gern Sachen, die andere nicht mehr haben wollen-sprich recycling. Und richtige Puppenhaus Lampen sind auch sehr sehr teuer!
Daher wollte ich eine alte (noch funktionierende natuerlich) WeihnachtsbaumBeleuchtung benutzen. Aber...das war garnicht so einfach, denn das waren drei ineinander verdrehte (so richtig schoen fest!!) Kabel, die ich aber waehrend einiger Tage doch auseinanderbekommen habe! Aber..es gibt ja immer ein ABER im Leben... der eine Teil davon leuchtete nicht, also musste ich alles wieder anders ueberlegen!
Dazu kam, dass so eine Kabel-Beleuchtung auch mal kaputtgehen oder durchbrennen koennte...also sollte alles auch zum Wiederabmachen sein- ohne dass man das ganze Haus auseinandernehmen muss! Nach viel Ausprobieren und Hin-und Herueberlegen war dann die Lichterkette schoen drapiert ums Haus.....aber es sah schrecklich aus wegen dieser gruenen Kabel ueberall! Und wie das nun verdecken???
Daher die Idee, dass der Weihnachtsmann ja auch in den Wolken leben kann- abgesehen von seinem Haus in Norwegen und am Nordpol!! Und so hab ich alles schoen mit Ausstopfwolle (die ich sonst fuer Stoffpueppchen nehme) dekoriert...und nun ist's ein Wolkenhaus geworden! Innen gibts auch ein paar kleine Wolken- denn ENTWEDER man lebt in Wolken ODER nicht!!!
Ausserdem kann ja so der Schlitten auch viel viel schneller abfliegen!!! ( der wird morgen bebaut!!)

In September this all started! Now my surprise packet is on its way to Germany!! I hope my Blogfriend will like it! We all knew who we are sending to, BUT none of us knew who would be making something for us in return! AND it remains a secret until all packets will have arrived!

It was great fun and very interesting to decide on little presents for a person one has never met in real life, but only through the blogs! Here is a little glimpse on the packet!

Yes!! Santa got three more helpers!! O, they had sooo much work!

As postal costs are quite expensive evrywhere they decided to send the little surprise packages only within Germany. Ich werde zum ersten Mal beim Wichteln mitmachen zu Weihnachten! Das wird von deutschen Blog-Damen organisiert. Ich freue mich schon doll darauf...und auf Alles was damit zusammenhaengt! Weil die Post-Kosten ja ueberall sehr teuer sind, wurde beschlossen, das Wichteln innerhalb Deutschlands zu tun. Falls aber jemand von Euch eine Anschrift dort hat, oder Freunde und Verwandte,die evtl aushelfen koennen (wie bei mir)...dann koennt ihr auch mitmachen! Mehr dazu bald. Momentan bin ich zu beschaeftigt mit Ferien-Vorbereitungen!!

Protests in Greece- but today international media didn't get it why! It is a REMEMBRANCE DAY

Of course this doesn't mean that there should be violent protests against whatsoever many people like would like to get rid of....

These young students in 1973 fought for FREEDOM and many paid with their lives. Their names are remembered with honor!

On November 14, 1973 students at the Athens Polytechnic (Polytechneion) went on strike and started protesting against the military regime (Regime of the Colonels). As the authorities stood by, the students, calling themselves the "Free Besieged" (Greek: Ελεύθεροι Πολιορκημένοι, a reference to a poem by Greek national poet Dionysios Solomos , barricaded themselves in and constructed a radio station (using laboratory equipment) that repeatedly broadcast across Athens:

Here is Polytechneion! People of Greece, the Polytechneion is the flag bearer of our struggle and your struggle, our common struggle against the dictatorship and for democracy"

Soon thousands of workers and youngsters joined them protesting inside and outside of the "Athens Polytechnic".

In the early hours of November 17, 1973, the transitional government panicked,sending a tank crashing through the gates of the Athens Polytechnic. Soon after that, Spyros Markezinis himself had the humiliating task to request Papadopoulos to re-impose martial law. Prior to the crackdown, the city lights had been shut down, and the area was only lit by the campus lights, powered by the university generators. An AMX 30 Tank (still kept in a small armored unit museum in a military camp in Avlonas, not open to the public) crashed the rail gate of the Athens Polytechnic at around 03:00am. In unclear footage clandestinely filmed by a Dutch journalist, the tank is shown bringing down the main steel entrance to the campus to which people were clinging. Documentary evidence also survives, in recordings of the "Athens Polytechnic" radio transmissions from the occupied premises. In these a young man's voice is heard desperately asking the soldiers (whom he calls 'brothers in arms') surrounding the building complex to disobey the military orders and not to fight 'brothers protesting'. The voice carries on to an emotional outbreak, reciting the lyrics of the Greek National Anthem, until the tank enters the yard, at which time transmission ceases.

I just have to share this...as my sister (52) just had an amazing operation on her ear AND SHE CAN HEAR MUCH BETTER NOW! With micro ( yes MINI!!!! ) surgery her stapes bone was exchanged which leads to a much much better hearing condition! She had had problems from childhood on and finally decided to have this operation, and it was an absolute success! We are all ever so happy and thankful!

Meine Schwester (52) hat vor ein paar Tagen eine Operation an ihrem Ohr machen lassen, wobei der Steigbuegel mit Micro (ja MINI!!)- Chirurgie ersetzt wurde, um das Hoervermoegen wieder herzustellen! Sie hatte seit ihrer Kindheit Probleme mit den Ohren und dem Hoeren und hatte sich dann schliesslich fuer diese Operation entschieden! Es wurde ein absoluter Erfolg und wir sind alle so dankbar und froh darueber! Hier gibts einiges dazu zu lesen!! :

Die Fähigkeit zu hören beruht auf sehr komplexen Vorgängen, an denen ganz verschiedene Strukturen beteiligt sind. Die Schallwellen dringen durch Ohrmuschel und Gehörgang ein und treffen zuerst auf das Trommelfell, das den äußeren Gehörgang vom Mittelohr (auch Paukenhöhle genannt) abgrenzt. Das Trommelfell wird wie bei einer Trommel in Schwingungen versetzt, die sich wiederum auf die dahinter liegenden Gehörknöchelchen Hammer, Amboss und Steigbügel übertragen. Von dort wird die Schwingung in das Innenohr übertragen, eine Art flüssigkeitsgefüllte knöcherne Schnecke. An den Wänden des Innenohrs befinden sich die Haarzellen, die schallbedingte Druckveränderungen der Flüssigkeit wahrnehmen und über den Hörnerven an das Gehirn weiterleiten. Ist die Schallübertragung z.B. durch einen Defekt im Trommelfell oder knöcherne Umbauprozesse am Übergang von Mittel- zum Innenohr gestört (Otosklerose), ist das Hörvermögen vermindert, man spricht von Schallleitungsschwerhörigkeit. Anders als bei Erkrankungen des Innerohrs mit Schädigung der empfindlichen Haarzellen lässt sich die Schalleitungsschwerhörigkeit durch einen operativen Eingriff häufig verbessern. In einigen Fällen können diese Eingriffe auch ambulant vorgenommen werden.
