There was ...a birthday just a few days ago! :) well...mine!! :) 

Vor ein paar Tagen gab es einen Geburtstag! :) nun...meinen!! :)

Looking at Jennifers presents...i had an idea! 

Well, i had been thinking of re-doing Praline's house, as many new minis - especially kitchen !!! minis have come together! Now..Praline wants to have her cake-shop, workroom , Bakery and Cafe!!!! 

Fitting all that into her house...that would have been difficult! 

BUT...friends show up  :) AND today i recieved Pralines new house...ideal to fit in all her new plans!!! :) It is a present from my friend Inge from https://www.facebook.com/Minimagicdreams?ref=hl

We are ever so excited and happy and full of ideas for the new project! :) 

The house is from very steardy cardboard, quite pretty to look at even without further "work-over" ! 

And it is perfect for Praline's plans!!! :) ....THAT's the news!!! :) 

beim Anschauen von Jennifers Geschenken kam mir eine Idee! Ich wollte schon laenger eigentlich Pralines Haus ueberarbeiten, denn es haben sich viele neue Sachen angesammelt, besonders Kuechensachen! Aber- wie Praline so ist... :) ..sie moechte eine Konditorei mit Arbeitsraum, Baeckerei und Cafe!!! :) 

Das alles in ihr haus reinbekommen, das waer schwierig! 

ABER...es gibt ja Freunde! Und so bekam ich heute von meiner Freundin Inge ( https://www.facebook.com/Minimagicdreams?ref=hl ) 

ein ganz tolles Haus aus Pappe...das ideal ist um Pralines Plaene umzusetzen! 

Also, daher sind wir begeistert und freune uns total!!! :) 

Das Haus ist sehr stabil und auch huebsch anzusehen, auch ohne weitere "Ueberarbeitung"! 

Und eben...perfekt! :) DAS sind die Neuigkeiten!!!! :)

Kurz zum Projekt : bei Pinterest habe ich diese Idee gesehen und zurueckverfolgt zu http://www.shannonsminis.com/avboxes.html

da gibts wer weiss was alles an Buecher-Mini-Projekten, ganz toll!
Ich konnte nicht anders..ich musste das einfach ausprobieren! :) 

Von den Buechern selbst bleibt nur der Einband erhalten, aber aus den Innenseiten mache ich ja auch was..daher kein schlechtes Gewissen! :) 

So ein Projekt sieht toll aus im normalen Buecherregal zwischen allem anderen an Buechern! Bei meinem kommt nun noch die Innnenausstattung , Beleuchtung und Dach/Abdeckung hinzu! 

Ich wollte ein bisschen an "Vorplatz" haben, auch damit man das ganze besser anfassen/plazieren etc kann. Also erst ein Versuch mit "Rasen" und Steinweg...der mir aber garnicht gefiel.

yesterday's version - gestern

...also dann heute die Methode "weniger ist mehr"...und nun siehts doch viel besser aus! :) Die Steine sind mit Kreidefarben (beinahe zu doll...) verwettert...und das Waldwichtelmaennchen ( ein fertig geschenkt bekommenes Figuerchen) kann nun seine Weihnachtswichtelbuecher einkaufen gehn! :)

I first made the space infront with "grass" and stones..which i didn't like at all...so this morning , the method "less is more" came into action...and now it looks much much better!! :) The stones are "weathered" now ( nearly too much...) with chalk-colours. I still have to add the lighting, interior bookshelves and more and some kind of roof.. :) 

I saw something...:) Ich hatte etwas gesehen :) ...

....and put my heart to it, as i love books!

I think it is a tribute to old books when we use them - and don't throw them away :)
With these "mini-book-shops" ..well, except the titelpages of the books, there isn't much left of them...but i use the insidepages for other creations...so i don't feel bad about cutting them out :)
I am given many "i don't want them any more"  books...as friends know by now that i will make something from it!

A little bookshop on the real-life shelf , how about that? :)
I am not finished by far !!!! You can see that further down in the picture of course .....But sharing this with you is a big percentage of the happiness one feels when building something new!
Now , this is NOT MY IDEA! I saw it on pinterest and fell for it!

So, here is my way ...up to now! :)  ( these are real size books!!! not minis!!! ) 

I actually don't know if it is the right way to cut everything out...but ..anyway, that's what i did! :)  And then glued the remains together again! 

on the real-life shelf...i think it is a wonderful idea! 

I also put the led candles insight...but that will show nicer with better pictures!

I just finished the first window, there will be the door and another window! 

Theo, Praline and Caramel love it ! Praline just had to go inside already! 

Caramel always finds a way... :)

The boxes are 4cm x 6cm, the cakes are about 3cm x 5 cm :)

Praline wouldn't miss an opportunity to be taken a picture with cakes!! AND it is a reminder that i urgently have to redo her kitchen! :)

Praline wuerde ja keine Gelegenheit verpassen, mit Kuchen und Torten fotografiert zu werden! :) UND es ist ein Wink mit dem Zaunpfahl...dass ich endlich ihre Kueche neu dekorieren muss! :)

Letters to Santa...and led candles!

I had seen these led battery little lights on various sites...but always thought they might be too big for dollhouse purposes. Well i talked about it with a friend from a german dollhouse group, she suggested they would most probably do, she knows of people who do train modells and use them...so i finally got some ( to my surprise
very near in our town) ! They are actually used quite a lot here now in cafeterias, bars etc for decoration instead of real candels. The train-modelists breake away all plastics around and just keep the little led lamp....but one has to be quite an expert for that, in order not to break the whole thing!
Anyway...i wanted them to light up my santa box...as they are cheap comparing to dollhouse products and lights. These little led candels are 2.50 to 2.80 euro a pair!!  And i haven't yet found any small lights in 1:24. With my scenes i don't really measure what i am making and most of the times i end up with a size smaller than 1:12.
I made two extra little shelves for the santa box now, as the candles came into it after finishing :). I painted them with nail colour and glued some decoration on to them. They have a little switch for on/off. So , there is no use in putting them somewhere where one can't reach them. In a future box i will plan on where to put them from the
beginning..and make the proper place for them! One could also make holes in the walls /ceiling..and just push through the little light. The"flame" (plastic cover)  comes off, too,if one wants...and then there is only a
tiny little lamp! Thus the switch would be on the outside and the lamp could stay in the place! Lots of planning ahead!!! :)
I will try to take a picture..just with the candle-light, it is quite sufficient for dollhouse purposes! (but not easy to photograph! )  ........................
But..more important now...here is Santa's mail box! 
Caramel had many ideas on what to write to Santa! How fortunate he is to have friends to help him post the letter! The fun part is, you can put in a real-lifesized letter! 
Who knows how and when...but ...Santa will surely get it! :) There is a little bell to let him know that there's a new letter! 
The box is 23 cm high, 15 cm wide and 7 cm deep. It is for sale, little Santa comes in for free...it is a little plastic doll dressed up with a rather old and worn coat. But he is cute anyway! :) Rudolf is there ,too...he is a plastic toy., too. All other things are made by me.
