Santa lives in the clouds! Because.... Der Weihnachtsmann wohnt in den Wolken! Weil....

Putting lights in a roombox, or now in this Santa house...that is a BIG challenge for me! As you will have noticed, i am not a professional ...  :) ...  AND i like to use things nobody wants- say, recycling!! ( and real dollhouse light are rather expensive...... :( !!!
So, i had kept this "christmas-tree- electric-lights-chain"  for quite a time, until it found its purpose some days ago! Yes, it should light Santa's house! Ihad already drilled some holes in the backsides- but that didn;t really seem enough!
More lights? Yes, the "chain"!! BUT...there is always a BUT in life, isn't it? ....this xmas-tree-light-chain was actually 3 cable-chains ,wonderfully tangled together! So i had to untangle it, twist and turn for nearly three days...AND in the end I won!
The "special request" in this try was also, that one chain of lights wouldn't work....so i had to break my mind, how to get the remaining ,working,  light-chain around the house!
Then the next (terrible) thought, WHAT IF THEY DON'T WORK anymore, or burn ????? This led to the solution that the lights are only put around the outside of the house and NOT fixed or glued forever and ever! (I wouldn;t really want to break down everything JUST TO CHANGE THE LIGHTS!!)
Well, up to now it all worked fine (after many hours...) , but then the whole construction just looked horrible with all the green cable surrounding the house...It took me some nights of thinking...but finally i decided that Santa might also live in the clouds..( and not exclusively in Norway or further up at the North Pole  :) ....and that it would look nice, covering the ugly cables with cotton-wool i use for filling cloth-dolls!
Well, this is the story...and this is what it looks like now ! There are even some little clouds inside the rooms under the roof, some tiny ones got caught in Santa's door....but, either you live in the clouds or you don't!!!
AND Santa can take off much quicker now!! (his big sleigh will be built tomorrow!)

and the roof , there is a little village on the right- in the middle there will be the Sleigh landing-Takeoff-place, at the right Santa comes up the stairs!! 

Nun noch etwas auf Deutsch!
Warum ist das Weihnachtshaus in den Wolken???
Nun, mit der Beleuchtung tu ich mich schwer- bzw bin ja sowieso kein Experte!! Ausserdem benutz ich gern Sachen, die andere nicht mehr haben wollen-sprich recycling. Und  richtige Puppenhaus Lampen sind auch sehr sehr teuer!
Daher wollte ich eine alte (noch funktionierende natuerlich) WeihnachtsbaumBeleuchtung  benutzen. Aber...das war garnicht so einfach, denn das waren drei ineinander verdrehte (so richtig schoen fest!!) Kabel, die ich aber waehrend einiger Tage doch auseinanderbekommen habe! Aber..es gibt ja immer ein ABER im Leben... der eine Teil davon leuchtete nicht, also musste ich alles wieder anders ueberlegen!
Dazu kam, dass so eine Kabel-Beleuchtung auch mal kaputtgehen oder durchbrennen koennte...also sollte alles auch zum Wiederabmachen sein- ohne dass man das ganze Haus auseinandernehmen muss! Nach viel Ausprobieren und Hin-und Herueberlegen war dann die Lichterkette schoen drapiert ums Haus.....aber es sah schrecklich aus wegen dieser gruenen Kabel ueberall! Und wie das nun verdecken???
Daher die Idee, dass der Weihnachtsmann ja auch in den Wolken leben kann- abgesehen von seinem Haus in Norwegen und am Nordpol!! Und so hab ich alles schoen mit Ausstopfwolle (die ich sonst fuer Stoffpueppchen nehme) dekoriert...und nun ist's ein Wolkenhaus geworden! Innen gibts auch ein paar kleine Wolken- denn ENTWEDER man lebt in Wolken ODER nicht!!!
Ausserdem kann ja so der Schlitten auch  viel viel schneller abfliegen!!! ( der wird morgen bebaut!!)

In September this all started! Now my surprise packet is on its way to Germany!! I hope my Blogfriend will like it! We all knew who we are sending to, BUT none of us knew who would be making something for us in return! AND it remains a secret until all packets will have arrived! 

It was great fun and very interesting to decide on little presents for a person one has never met in real life, but only through the blogs! Here is a little glimpse on the packet! 

Yes!! Santa got three more helpers!! O, they had sooo much work!

Ich werde zum ersten Mal beim Wichteln mitmachen zu Weihnachten! Das wird von deutschen Blog-Damen organisiert. Ich freue mich schon doll darauf...und auf Alles was damit zusammenhaengt! Weil die Post-Kosten ja ueberall sehr teuer sind, wurde beschlossen, das Wichteln innerhalb Deutschlands zu tun. Falls aber jemand von Euch eine Anschrift dort hat, oder Freunde und Verwandte,die evtl aushelfen koennen (wie bei mir)...dann koennt ihr auch mitmachen! Mehr dazu bald. Momentan bin ich zu beschaeftigt mit Ferien-Vorbereitungen!!

Protests in Greece- but today international media didn't get it why! It is a REMEMBRANCE DAY

Of course this doesn't mean that there should be violent protests against whatsoever many people like would like to get rid of....

These young students in 1973 fought for FREEDOM and many paid with their lives. Their names are remembered with honor! 

On November 14, 1973 students at the Athens Polytechnic (Polytechneion) went on strike and started protesting against the military regime (Regime of the Colonels). As the authorities stood by, the students, calling themselves the "Free Besieged" (Greek: Ελεύθεροι Πολιορκημένοι, a reference to a poem by Greek national poet Dionysios Solomos , barricaded themselves in and constructed a radio station (using laboratory equipment) that repeatedly broadcast across Athens:

Here is Polytechneion! People of Greece, the Polytechneion is the flag bearer of our struggle and your struggle, our common struggle against the dictatorship and for democracy"

 Soon thousands of workers and youngsters joined them protesting inside and outside of the "Athens Polytechnic".

In the early hours of November 17, 1973, the transitional government panicked,sending a tank crashing through the gates of the Athens Polytechnic. Soon after that, Spyros Markezinis himself had the humiliating task to request Papadopoulos to re-impose martial law. Prior to the crackdown, the city lights had been shut down, and the area was only lit by the campus lights, powered by the university generators. An AMX 30 Tank (still kept in a small armored unit museum in a military camp in Avlonas, not open to the public) crashed the rail gate of the Athens Polytechnic at around 03:00am. In unclear footage clandestinely filmed by a Dutch journalist, the tank is shown bringing down the main steel entrance to the campus to which people were clinging. Documentary evidence also survives, in recordings of the "Athens Polytechnic" radio transmissions from the occupied premises. In these a young man's voice is heard desperately asking the soldiers (whom he calls 'brothers in arms') surrounding the building complex to disobey the military orders and not to fight 'brothers protesting'. The voice carries on to an emotional outbreak, reciting the lyrics of the Greek National Anthem, until the tank enters the yard, at which time transmission ceases.

Sie hatte seit ihrer Kindheit Probleme mit den Ohren und dem Hoeren und hatte sich dann schliesslich fuer diese Operation entschieden! Die Fähigkeit zu hören beruht auf sehr komplexen Vorgängen, an denen ganz verschiedene Strukturen beteiligt sind. Anders als bei Erkrankungen des Innerohrs mit Schädigung der empfindlichen Haarzellen lässt sich die Schalleitungsschwerhörigkeit durch einen operativen Eingriff häufig verbessern. In einigen Fällen können diese Eingriffe auch ambulant vorgenommen werden.

News on Santa's House! Neues ueber das Weihnachtsmannhaus!! 

This is how the right side of Santa's house looked...while "under construction" ....and i had been breaking my mind what to do there. I wanted it to look like an open air shed for wood, parcels, and other things...but the right idea would not come!! Because i try to use whatever i have (or friends bring me)...the house was build with a great mixture of pieces!! That's why the right wall has this big opening! - Anyway...close it? No, that would make next-door Santa's room too dark. Leave it open? No, that would be too much of an opening...

So sah die rechte Seite vom Weihnachtshaus in der Aufbauphase aus...und ich hatte die ganze Zeit ueberlegt, wie die gestaltet werden soll! Ich wollte einen offenen Abstell/Holz/ Sachenplatz...aber die zuendende Idee kam und kam nicht! Weil ich immer versuche ,alle moeglichen Teile zu verwenden, die mir von Freunden gebracht werden oft...ist auch dieses Haus ziemlich "gepuzzelt"! Daher die grosse Oeffnung in der Wand. Aber dann...Zubauen? Nein, denn dann waere das Wohnzimmer nebenan zu dunkel. Offen lassen? Nein, dann waer alles zu offen...

Also hab ich's ein paar Tage ruhen lassen, aber natuerlich die ganze Zeit gegruebelt, was dahin soll...bis ich dann auf die "glorreiche" Idee kam (!!!) in der Blogwelt ein bisschen rumzugucken, eventuell wuerde sich ja eine Loesung finden! Und...siehe da! Auf Gondas Blog http://gondasminiworld.blogspot.com fand ich beim Durchgucken meinen Holzplatz/Aussenbereich/ Idee!!! Hier ist das Bild wonach ich dann weiterkam! Und Gonda war heute so lieb, auf meine email positiv  zu antworten , denn ich hatte um Erlaubnis zur Veroeffentlichung des Fotos gebeten!

And then it only took some hours, some cutting, some glue, some painting.....and the "shed " is ready now! AND Santa's room has got a nice "wall" with curtains and window- so nice to look though from both sides!!!

Danach brauchte es nur noch ein paar Stunden, etwas Ausschneiden, etwas Kleber...und Fertig!!! Ausserdem gibts im Wohnzimmer nun Gardinen und die Wand hinter Santa's Schreibtischstuhl- und ein Fenster wo man so huebsch durchgucken kann! Und...weil mir's so gut gefaellt, kriegt ihr viele Fotos zu sehn!

And then...Just today, a little "Helper" knocked on Santa's door! And Santa  put him to work without second thought! Getting him something to drink and cutting wood!!


Und dann hat doch heute auch schon ein kleiner "\Helfer" an die Tuer geklopft! Und der Weihnachtsmann hat ihn gleich geschickt, etwas zu trinken zu holen und dann Holz zu hacken!

Danach hat sie die Weihnachtskueche entdeckt und dort fuehlt sie sich superwohl! 

( Forgot to say...that she will need a little house of course!! and  a bed, and and and and ...!!! :)

There are no pics of making the clothes (trousers and jacket)...that was really tricky and  taking photos ,too- that would have been too much!! :) The trousers are actually quite too tight and the jacket a bit too big ( my fault-not the tutorial's!!!) , but in the end it sort of looks allright, what do you think?

Vom Kleidernaehen gibts keine Fotos, das war schwierig genug- und dann auch noch Fotos machen...das ging nicht! Die Hose ist ziemlich eng geworden, die Jacke eigentlich zu gross- (mein fehler, nicht der der Anleitungen!!!) Aber es sieht doch einigermassen aus, was meint ihr?
